Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 24, 2026
Parental LLC ("Parental", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Parental learning platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, role (Learner or Educator), and a hashed version of your password. Educators may additionally provide a profile bio, credentials, and payout details.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. We retain transaction identifiers, amounts, tax breakdowns, and the last four digits of the payment instrument used, as well as Stripe customer and subscription IDs.
Usage Data
We log information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, courses viewed, video playback events, search queries, and progress through course content. This data helps us improve the platform and personalize your experience.
Device and Connection Information
We automatically collect IP address, browser type, operating system, and approximate location derived from your IP. We use this for security, fraud prevention, and analytics.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how the Service is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features of the Service may not function correctly without them.
How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service
- Authenticate you and protect against unauthorized access
- Process payments, payouts, and refunds
- Communicate with you about your account, purchases, and updates
- Personalize content recommendations and progress tracking
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with:
- Service providers who run our infrastructure on our behalf, including Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, authentication), Stripe (payments), and Mux (video delivery). These providers may only use your data to perform services for us.
- Educators receive limited information about learners who purchase their courses (such as enrollment counts and aggregated progress) so they can manage their offerings. They do not receive your contact information unless you explicitly opt in.
- Legal compliance: we may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Parental, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: if Parental is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
You can update your account information at any time from your account settings. You can close your account by contacting us; we will delete or anonymize your data subject to legal retention obligations.
Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for adults (18 and older) seeking education about pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for sensitive fields, scoped access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
Data Retention
We retain account and transaction information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. We retain usage data for a limited period for analytics and security purposes, and aggregate or anonymize it where possible.
International Users
The Service is operated in the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email or through the Service.
